The condominiums are a new $1,000,000 dollar housing complex built exclusively for Eagles players. Each spacious apartment features a fully equipped kitchen that includes an oven with stove top, a full size fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and microwave. The eating area and living room area merge to create a large, open living space in the living room. Every apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms with full size showers. Ceiling fans are located throughout the apartment as is central heating and air conditioning.
Plans and construction are now underway to enhance the basement of the complex to include; a weight room, classroom/video review room, player’s lounge and aerobic space. There will also be a Shooting Board in the basement so player’s can work on their shot throughout the winter, as well as a slide board to strengthen their stride. All without having to leave the comfort of their own facility. Also for the convenience of the players, there is a Laundry facility located on the 2nd floor of the building for the exclusive use by the players. Players have ample parking either in front or behind the building in the 2 “Player’s Lots”. And as is often the case, there will be plenty of space and a safe environment for players to leave their cars when going on road trips. The Eagles make arrangements to depart and arrive from the Apartment Facility to reduce travel for players on weekends spent on the road. The Apartments are conveniently located just minutes away from Knickerbacker Arena, home to the Eagles. For the student-athletes in the program, Cohoes High School is 5 minutes distance away, and Hudson Valley Community College is a mere 10 minute drive. Coach Al Rooney (along with fiancée Mackenzie) live in an apartment in the building and provides supervision for the facility. This allows the Eagles the unique opportunity to offer a chance for players to grow as young men off the ice in their own apartments, while also still living under Adult supervision. The players live in groups of 3-4 players per apartment and thus far have been a huge hit with the players who have lived there!
